  • How does the challenge work?
    The challenge runs on our online learning platform itza.io. The challenge takes place over a 3-week period during which students at registered schools can play anytime, anywhere. During the challenge students earn challenge points. These points are earned only for quizzes and learning journeys related to the challenge. School and individual progress can be tracked on leaderboards.
  • What do students have to do to take part in a challenge?
    During a challenge, students work online, independently. This can be at home or in class. We provide fantastically engaging content for them to learn from, and short quizzes to test what they know.
  • Can anyone play?
    Challenges are open to students who enter as part of a school’s team with a school code from their teacher.
  • How much does it cost to participate?
    Participation is absolutely FREE.
  • How does my school register for the challenge?
    You can register your school for the challenge on this portal (https://www.wwfchallenge.world). Follow the instructions and receive a school code to share with your students to use when they register for the challenge on the learning platform itza.io. There is no cost to entering a challenge. Please note that we issue only one school code per school so if more than one teacher registers from your school, you will receive the same school code.
  • Which year groups is the challenge open to?
    Challenges are open to all students; ITZA content is aimed at ages 10-14.
  • How do students join the challenge?
    When the challenge starts, students must: 1) Login* on ITZA’s online learning platform itza.io 2) Enter their school code to join your school team 3) Dive in and start climbing the leaderboard! * If students do not have a login yet, they can sign-up and create a login for free on itza.io. Students under 13 will be asked to provide a guardian/ parent’s email address; students 13 or over will be asked to give their own email address. If a student forgets their username, please ask them to look for the email we sent to them when they registered on itza.io, subject line 'Itza Email Verification' from support@itza.io, to see what their username is. If a student forgets their password, they can reset it by clicking the ‘Forgotten your password?’ button on the login page. Once they have clicked this, they can enter the email address they used to sign-up and press ‘Confirm’. In their email account, they should have an email from ITZA. They can simply click the link contained in the email and they will be allowed to choose a new password.
  • Do teachers receive notifications when students sign up?
    No, but we suggest you ask your students to inform you directly of their anonymised username when they register so that they can be identified by you and you can keep a record of who has registered.
  • Is our school and student data kept safe?
    We take your student’s safety very seriously. As part of protecting their identity, we ask each student to pick an anonymous display name during sign up. This is the display name that is seen by other users on leaderboards.
  • How does the scoring work?
    Scoring criteria: challenge points are awarded to learners for: engaging in relevant challenge content completing quizzes School and individual progress can be tracked on leaderboards. Leaderboards/scores will be updated in 24 hours.
  • How can I check on my school’s progress?
    Once the challenge is underway, you can use your school code on this portal to check on your school's progress in the challenge leaderboards.
  • What is Yakka?
    Yakka is ITZA’s digital currency. Yakka rewards learners for: - Finding things out for themselves - Showing persistence - Exploring beyond - Expanding their knowledge - Testing themselves in interactive quizzes Students can spend their Yakka on WWF conservation initiatives, sustainably-made products and online vouchers and experiences.
  • What domains need to be whitelisted by school IT departments?
    We use YouTube as a video player. To prevent videos being blocked, please add the following to the whitelist: youtube.be youtube.com ytimg.com s.ytimg.com s.youtube.com youtube.com/s accounts.youtube.com consent.youtube.com For other ITZA videos and content, the following domains will need to be whitelisted: *.jwpcdn.com *.jwplayer.com *.jwplatform.com *.jwpsrv.com *.jwpltx.com jwpsrv-vh.akamaihd.net itza.io quiz.itza.io 7432061735.execute-api.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com
  • Why can’t my students login on their devices?
    Ask your students to try logging in using a different device; there may be an issue with the browser or device being used. If the problem persists on different devices, contact our support team (support@itza.io) to check that the account is set up correctly.
  • Can we download the digital content to use at school later?
    The digital content cannot be downloaded but it is available On Demand after the challenge ends.
  • What technical support is there?
    We offer support for issues at support@itza.io during UK working hours.
